52 Poems (week 46)

Sarah Kay's spoken word poem during her TED talk is full of promise. The idea of a future daughter glows brightly, washed with her own experience in the world of mothers and daughters and men and women. It's a poem I'd buy for a friend who knew she was having a girl, along with a copy of Gaiman's Blueberry Girl.

The full TED talk is in the video below. 'B' or 'If I had a daughter' is first and, if you make it to the end, there's another called 'Hiroshima'.
